2014 warmest year

According to The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) which keeps global records,

2014 was the warmest year in the modern record.

  • Europe was the hottest it’s been in 500 years
  • California had record-smashing heat.
  • Australia broke heat records across the continent (for the second year running). 
  • Much of Siberia defrosted in spring and early summer under temperatures more than 5°C above its 1981 to 2010 average.
